Supported operations for .EU
Registration
.eu can be registered by anyone living in one of the 25 EU member states.
Update
Updating your .eu domain is possible without problems. n.b. changing the domain owner of a .eu requires a trade.
Trade
When initiating a trade request, both parties, the current and the new user are asked to confirm the trade operation. Only if both parties confirm the trade operation, the owner is changed. The current user and the new user must have different email addresses.
The trade confirmation is done by email. If one of the two parties cannot be reached by email, a fax can be sent to the registry. If the domain is registered on a company name or will be registered on behalf of a company the fax need to be on letter head paper.
A trade is handled and charged like a new registration. The period of the domain is reset to one year.
Transfer
There are two ways to transfer a .eu domain:
-
Using E-Mail Authorization
-
- Initiate the transfer in your account
- After you have initiated the domain transfer, the official Registry EURid sends the request to the Licensee (Registrant) of the domain asking for confirmation.
- A .EU Domain Transfer can stay active up to seven days. Then a new transfer must be started / initiated. If the Licensee (Registrant) does not confirm the transfer within seven days (via email), then he can still do so, by sending a confirmation fax directly to EURid in the following 7 days (http://www.eurid.eu/en/eu-domain-names/trades-transfers/fax-number-and-confirmation-templates).
-
- The transfer code of a domain can be requested
- The transfer code will be sent to the registered owner's email address.
- The transfer can be requested using the Transfer Domain command. The transfer code will have to be stated in the auth parameter.
- If a transfer has been requested with authorization code, the transfer will not have to be approved again by the domain owner.
Upon successfully transferring a .eu domain, it is automatically renewed for one year.
